Autumn Travels In 2020

October - Cirencester Park, Cotswolds

This site, set in the grade 1 listed parkland of the Bathurst Estate, is perfectly placed for the short walk through the park into Roman town of Cirencester and exploring the Cotswolds countryside.

The Westonbirt Arboretum is a drive away and absolutely spectacular in the autumn.

On site the wardens were well on top of all they had to do to manage the coronavirus and yet still had time to stop and chat. I had an issue with my battery box cover on my way to the site which was spotted by a warden on arrival. The warden subsequently came over and fixed the problem without me asking. So it was great to see a site team managing a difficult year and still having time to make us all very welcome.

One thing I did notice on site was that some of the fully serviced pitches had a drain outlet point that was slightly uphill from the caravan which didn’t help with the draining away of waste water. I know we can’t expect pitches to be level but on a fully serviced pitch this is not very helpful, especially if you are a member that needs to be on a fully serviced pitch. Apart from that the site was great.

Lets hope we can all get back to some sort of normality next year and making good use of the network of sites and the rallies that will be available to us.

John
